The Business Intelligence Engineer will apply technical and business skills to delivery data warehousing, ETL development, reporting/dashboarding and cloud integration services to varied business organizations throughout Servco. This individual will be responsible for researching, evaluating and resolving database integration issues as needed.  In addition to providing database engineering support, the Business Intelligence Engineer will provide analytic support, which includes, data collection, development of reports/dashboards, and data integrity assessments. The Business Intelligence Engineer will interface with multiple project teams and business stakeholders to support strategic initiatives, and maintenance of legacy databases and reports. Finally, this individual will provide a constant flow of new and innovative ideas in support of Servco’s BI roadmap.



  • Develop, implement, and tune data pipelines and storage solutions (on premise or cloud) to support downstream applications

    Write and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, ETL scripts, views, temporary tables, and other objects related database engineering

    Lead end-to-end data engineering support for projects and problems of complex scope and impact throughout Servco’s individual business lines

    Analyze business data requirements and design strategies for the gathering, analyzing, and storing of information for end users

    Track and communicate project risks, team activities and project status to management and stakeholders throughout the project life-cycle

  • Analyze, create, and maintain scripts and consistent processes to monitor and report on data quality and troubleshoot issues which may compromise the credibility of dashboards, reports and other downstream applications

    Identify the cause of the issue or discrepancy

    Correct data related errors or processes

    Coordinate problem resolution and communication with impacted business lines or outside vendors

  • Develop self-serve visualizations, dashboards, reports and ad hoc assessments to enable visibility into key business and operational metrics for Servco’s leadership and business unitsWork directly with business users to develop and maintain reports, graphs, and visualizations, including a catalog of available reports, allowing users to easily find and understand information

    Translate business requirements into process/system functional requirements and identify/assess potential data source

    Apply UX/UI best practices to design intuitive and modular dashboards and reports. Understand how the business uses reports and translate that to a good design

    Ensure delivery meets agreed upon requirements

    Create and maintain operational requirements and standards documentation

  • Contribute to the overall data analytics strategy by cross training, knowledge sharing and mentoring end users
  • Propose new data platforms, tools, processes improvements that could potentially grow Servco’s business, improve operational efficacy, or create new product offerings

    Proactively look for opportunities to improve the business outside of the specific questions asked and understand how to influence the organization to make the needed changes



  • 4-5 years’ experience with Microsoft’s SQL Server Stack
  • 2-3 years’ experience with Excel
  • 1-3 years’ experience with Tableau
  • Preferred Certifications: MCSA, MCSE, Tableau Certified Associate
  • Advanced TSQL and ETL scripting skills
  • Professional experience with report development, dashboard creation, pivot tables, and visual analytics with Tableau
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with agile development process
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proven track record of working across all levels of the organization
  • Problem solver and analytical thinker
  • Strong business acumen and team player
