Responsibilities:

• Perform database administration services including SQL code review, performance analysis, query tuning, index rebuilding, database application design, physical data modeling, development support & engineering
• Proactively monitor database servers and respond to any alerts for all internal data feeds
• Analyze, create, and maintain scripts and consistent processes to monitor and report on data quality and troubleshoot issues which may compromise the credibility of dashboards, reports and other downstream applications
• Responsible for working with our vendors to ensure data pipelines are properly established and maintained for both outgoing and incoming data feeds, adequate security measures are being followed, and escalating any concerns to the proper business units
• Read, analyze, and interpret needs from client’s request to identify the intended goal and proper data to be accessed; design the best possible solution and develop ETL process to accurately fulfill the request
• Automate report distribution through standard and data-driven subscriptions

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science or Analytics or equivalent work experience
• 2-3 years of Microsoft SQL Server Administration and programming experience
• 2+ years of experience building cloud data solutions (Azure & Snowflake preferred)
• 2+ years of experience supporting critical business processes
• Experience with Tableau Bridge and Oracle preferred
• Experience with designing, developing, and enhancing data models using SQL and designing data interfaces
• Experience supporting mission critical production systems and maintaining system performance of the data tier and the reliability of data feeds across the enterprise system
• Experience in data center migrations and consolidations for storage and backup technology
• Strong understanding of core data warehouse concepts
• Experience using Jira, Confluence and Slack
• Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft SQL Server technologies in all core areas: SSMS, Data Synchronization, Encryption, Partitioning, Log Shipping, Performance, Security, SSIS, and SSRS
• Ability to work with Database Engineers and Software Developers, to provide systems designs that are dependable, scalable, and maintainable to support our business units
• Ability to finetune and optimize SQL performance for stored procedures and writing database monitoring jobs in SQL Server
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Effectively documents and communicates database schemas, using accepted notations
• Available for on-call hours to address system/interface failures
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Great communication and works well in a team
• Has a solid business acumen and can problem solve
• Experience with project management
• Microsoft SQL Server Administration and MSCA Database Administration certificates preferred
