2021 Summer Intern Program – Marketing

Servco is looking for summer interns to join its Marketing Department on a full-time basis from June through August. In this position, you’ll work on the Corporate Communications or Brand Marketing team and collaborate with other areas of Marketing (content, digital, promotions). And, trust us, you won’t be filing papers or fetching coffee (although coffee and boba lovers are welcome with open arms). Our goal is to get you involved with real marketing and communications projects and challenges, work with subject matter experts, and contribute to finding innovative ways to engage our internal and external stakeholders.  

What do we do?

The Corporate Communications team consults, develops, and executes communications programs to engage internal and external audiences. In addition, this team provides consultation and marketing support for Servco’s non-automotive marketing efforts. The Brand Marketing team strategizes and executes marketing campaigns (product launches, sale events) for Servco’s automotive brands (Toyota, Lexus, Subaru, Chevy). Marketing campaign deliverables involve working on advertising (traditional and digital), email, and website.

About Servco’s Internship Program

Servco’s internship program is an opportunity for top students to gain relevant work experience in various areas. Internship positions are only available in Hawaii. The program offers interns challenging and meaningful work that allows them to demonstrate their abilities, apply knowledge acquired through college courses, and be evaluated for possible future employment opportunities within Servco. Our internships create opportunities for interns to establish important relationships with experienced professionals.

This is a full-time (40 hours per week) internship program which spans over a period of 8 weeks.

Responsibilities:

• Participates in a structured learning program covering Servco as an organization and their respective business area
• Gain exposure to different career opportunities and the corporate environment through meaningful and increasingly responsible work and/or defined project assignments
• Take ownership over a capstone project with the goal of driving innovation within the Marketing team
• Brainstorm new and innovative way to engage our customers to take action
• Fulfils various program requirements, makes presentations, and/or participates in additional developmental and skill building opportunities
• Support marketing efforts for Toyota, Lexus, Subaru, and non-automotive brands
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:                                  

• Currently enrolled in or graduated within the last 6 months from a college/university program
• Previous experience with volunteer work, school/student activities, leadership roles, etc.
• Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft applications
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities
• Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and complete tasks as assigned
• Be a team player and have a sense of humour
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite a plus
