Servco is seeking an Accounting Manager who will work with the Corporate Controller and other Accounting and Financial Services (AFS) managers to achieve Company and department objectives. This position also has the project management responsibility to lead adoption of applicable Finance Best Practices in general ledger, and other special projects.


The Accounting Manager is also responsible for directing general ledger functions and will be the primary lead to plan direct period end closing process within AFS and Operations. This position will ensure there are sufficient effective internal controls over financial processes.


As part of AFS management team, this person will work together with the Controller to manage, supervise, train, guide, support, and develop assigned staff and build and maintain a positive working environment that promotes learning, development, support and collaboration between all team members.



  • Direct general ledger financial department to ensure all required transactions from various business units and corporate departments are completed and recorded timely and accurately in the system in accordance with GAAP and company policy.
  • Determine proper accounting treatment and review calculation for transactions, particularly in complex areas involving various estimations for reserve accruals.
  • Collaborate with AFS departments to successfully implement changes to transaction processes in Operations units to achieve desired results in G/L.
  • Work with Corporate Finance (Reporting, FP&A, AFS – Systems Analyst) to properly manage G/L chart of accounts.
  • Ensure that fixed assets accounting records are properly maintained and accounted for in accordance with GAAP; collaborate with Tax Department to ensure FA records are provided accurately and completely to be imported into the Tax Depreciation System.
  • Prepare, review, and approve GET accruals, use Tax accruals and GET returns and making payments by applicable due dates.
  • Prepare/review approved internal transactions elimination for consolidation at various levels.
  • Prepare, post, review approved, and maintain journal entry records with support documentation in the most effective efficient manner. Works with managers to set internal standards to minimize non-material time-consuming journal adjustments (i.e. depreciation calculations, non-significant allocations…)
  • Ensure balancing between Subsidiary Ledgers to General Ledgers in accordance with company policy (materiality).
  • Lead period end closing process to meet internal and external deadlines, with goal to accelerate the timelines of providing management data without unnecessary disruptions of day to day accounting operations.
  • Work with Corporate Finance (AFS units, Reporting, FP&A), and Operations units (Business Analysts, Business Managers) to properly perform reviews of trial balance data to ensure accuracy of financial reporting in the most effective and efficient manner.
  • Reconcile, review, and approve reconciliations of assigned general ledger accounts, with discrepancies resolved in accordance with company policy within required time frame.
  • Prepare/review analysis of accounts/data as assigned.
  • Provide customer service and support as needed.
  • Assist with other special projects as assigned.
  • Work with Controller and AFS management team to achieve department objectives including determining strategic direction, developing plans to improve accounting transactional processing, and leading and adopting of applicable finance best practice.
  • Performs period review of accounts, records, and accounting policies and procedures, ensure compliance with FASB/GAAP and other relevant standards, establish and monitor systems throughout the company for reports, recordkeeping, and procedures.
  • Works with managers to initiate, establish, and monitor control systems to minimize risk of loss or destruction of assets, fraud, embezzlement, excessive costs or insufficient revenues, erroneous reporting, statutory fines or violations.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Master’s degree in Accounting or MBA preferred
  • Minimum five years of experience with a major public accounting firm.
  • Minimum three years of accounting management and inventory cost accounting work experience.
  • CPA license preferred.
  • Technical GAAP knowledge.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and strong track record of successfully collaborating with other functions of the company.
  • Ability to set clear expectations and provide feedback for improvements when needed.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and with complex MS Excel functions and features.
  • Experience with Microsoft Access.
  • Oracle Financial Cloud and DealerTrack experience preferred.
