  • Overview

    We are seeking an Accounting Manager to work as part of our Accounting and Financial Services leadership team to achieve company and department objectives. This includes determining strategic direction, developing and implementing automation plans to improve effectiveness and efficiency of accounting transactional processing, and general ledger activities, while ensuring effective internal controls are in place to safeguard assets and prevent frauds.  This position will also lead the adoption of applicable finance best practices in accounting operations, general ledger, and other special projects. 

    Responsibilities

    • Effectively work within Accounting and Financial Services departments and other business operating units to capture financial operational data in accordance with company policy
    • Complete period closing process within established deadlines and materiality limits to produce financial and management reports
    • Oversee assigned G/L account reconciliations to be completed accurately and timely with discrepancies or outstanding items resolved in accordance with company guidelines
    • Collaborate with our operations teams to manage end-to-end work flow processes to properly record transactions in the G/L system
    • Work with Corporate Finance teams (General Accounting, Reporting, Tax) to determine proper accounting treatment and calculation of transactions in compliance with GAAP, IFRS, tax regulations, and in accordance with company polices
    • Provide proper supervision, work products review, training, coaching, and career development to assigned staff
    • Lead projects, develop analysis reports, and implement procedures
    • Provide customer support services to stakeholders

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited university.
    • Master of Accounting or MBA degree preferred
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in an accounting manager/supervisor role with staff supervisory responsibilities (minimum oversight of a team of 2)
    • Previous experience in general ledger accounting, period closing, account reconciliation and analysis, receivable collection and cash management, and financial statements.
    • Industry experience in retail inventory management, manufacturing costing, and automotive highly desirable
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power point, Access)
    • Oracle Fusion Cloud and Dealer Track experiences highly desirable
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with high attention to detail
    • Excellent team player who is self-motivated
    • Positive attitude and open to continuous learning and process improvements changes
    • CPA license preferred
    • Prior experience with a big-4 national firm with auditing experience highly desirable
