Servco has a paid internship opportunity for a student majoring in Accounting/Finance and are in their junior or senior year at an accredited 4-year college or university.  This internship would be part-time, working approximately 20 hours a week during the school year and with the flexibility to work more hours during the summer.  

The Accounting Intern will support either the Accounts Payable or General Ledger departments with the following responsibilities:

Accounts Payable

• Perform clerical duties file, sort, date stamp and process checks and receiving invoices
• Review vendor statements for past due invoices
• Contact vendors to obtain invoice copies and W9’s
• Research and match company name and address to look up Vendor ID with supply listing
• Scan/organize W9’s and invoices and follow up vendor on invoices
• Other duties assigned by manager

 General Ledger & Reporting

• Prepare expense allocation schedules
• Perform daily cash drawer balancing & deposit audits
• Perform general ledger account reconciliations and journal entries
• Match and file bank transmittals receipts
• File and archive accounting records
• Provide administrative support for the department
• Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements and schedules
• Validate data and test reports developed from new reporting system
• Assist in research and documentation of newly issued accounting standard updates
• Assist Accounting Managers and Reporting Team with miscellaneous projects and reports as assigned

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor or Master Degree program in Accounting/Finance or related field with at least two completed courses in accounting
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and good follow-up skills
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel
