  • Overview

    We are seeking a Technical Training Manager to oversee the strategic planning and operational effectiveness of the Automotive Training Department.

    Responsibilities

    • Administer, develop, and execute technical training curriculum and method of instruction
    • Measure, test, and set grading standards in accordance to Manufacturer’s guidelines
    • Administer, develop, and execute collaborative training programs with local technical colleges to develop and recruit new automotive technicians
    • Maintain Manufacturers’ Technical Tool support programs with dealers and supporting vendors
    • Monitor Hawaii Dealers’ technical training requirements to ensure SACS programs fulfil market needs
    • Develop and maintain technician recognition programs to promote training excellence
    • Lead development of a real-time reporting system to provide Hawaii Dealers and Technicians with quick access to training reports and student certification information

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive Technology, Engineering, Curriculum Development, Instructional Design or equivalent professional work experience
    • 5+ years of OEM Technical Training experience or at least 5 years as a Dealer Master/Lead technician
    • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
    • ASE certified (Auto Master Tech w/ L-1)
    • Advanced automotive diagnostic knowledge
    • Current knowledge of advanced automotive systems and technology and automotive tools and equipment
    • Understanding of effective training methods and administering training programs
    • Effective presentation skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Instructional design and development skills preferred
    • OEM Technical training certification preferred
    • Automotive dealership management/supervisory experience and advanced training methods and techniques a plus
